The last worship service for Immanuel United Church of Christ in Crothersville is Sunday.
Everyone is invited to attend a celebration of the church’s legacy in a service at 3 p.m. Sunday at the church at 100 N. Kattman Ave.
The church has met as a congregation since May 14, 1863 — 153 years.
Immanuel’s legacy will live on for many years due to the generous financial arrangements the church has made to support various organizations in Crothersville, the United States and around the world, said the Rev. Bud Walther, pastor of the church.
“There are many folks in Crothersville and beyond who have ties to Immanuel through baptism, confirmation, marriage, membership and friendship,” Walther said.
