Robert Martinez, 68, of Medora passed away Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family.

Born Nov. 3, 1947, in Austin, Texas, he was the son of Ralph Martinez, who preceded him in death, and Alesi Moreno, who survives. On Nov. 1, 1997, in Corpus Christi, Texas, he married Nancy Mock, who survives.

Robert was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and was a retired airfield maintenance supervisor. He was very active with the Jackson County Park in Sparksville, where he helped with building trails and several recreational facilities. He was a skilled auto mechanic and loved to barbecue. He was always willing to help anyone in need.

Other survivors include his children, Robert Martinez Jr., Kristen Silva, Shane Martinez and Shadd Hargett; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Sandra Logan and Olivia Cantu.

A memorial service will be at noon Sept. 3 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Medora.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Sept. 3 at the church.
