Library offering cribbage class

0

Volunteers Terri and Ed DeVoe will teach interested adults how to play cribbage at 6 p.m. Thursday and Sept. 15 upstairs at the Seymour Library, 303 W. Second St.

Experienced cribbage players also are welcome to play during this free Jackson County Public Library program. The “cribbage meet-up” is generally conducted on the first and third Thursdays of each month, and registration is not required.

People may drop in to find out about this card game for two to four players, a characteristic feature of which is the crib.

Cribbage is a game of numbers. The math is simple, but cribbage is a game of strategy and tactics. Sometimes the player tries to score points, and at other times the player tries to stop the opponent from scoring.

Cards and boards are provided.
