Letter: Planning, volunteers made reunion special

0

To the editor:

Aug. 20 was the 50th class reunion for the Seymour High School Class of 1966. The event was a smashing success with 86 members of our class returning and about 68 additional guests enjoying the memories, food, drink and entertainment.

It is always great to see many old friends and classmates. It is equally exciting to catch up on old times and relive past and present life stories. Most we assume are even true.

But this special “thank you” is to all the classmates who live in and around Seymour. You know who you are. Those of us who drive in for the reunion would be remiss to not give a special thanks to all those who made this event happen. These events do not occur without immense work, planning and time commitments on the part of many — and most of that falls to those who live in and around Seymour.

So to the local class officers, the planning committee, all those who volunteered time and energy to make the reunion a reality, the class sponsors, the caterers, and the Reunion Band — “thanks.”

I anticipate I speak for many of our class who traveled to the reunion and feel the same way.

God bless — safe travels — and see you all in 2021.
