VALLONIA

Shawn Matthew Brown, 36, of Vallonia passed away on Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

Born Oct. 1, 1979, in Bremerton, Washington, he was the son of Mark and Linda Brown who survive in Seymour. On Feb. 18, 2016, he married Amanda Giltner, who also survives.

Shawn worked for H&L Tree Trimming, a job that he absolutely loved. He was known as a thrill seeker and loved the outdoors. He loved to be on the water kayaking, canoeing and fishing, and he enjoyed hiking and camping while never resisting the urge to play in the campfire.

He was a mama’s boy, his dad’s best friend, a proud father to his children, the epitome of a big brother and the world to his wife. Shawn was known as a sarcastic guy who loved his family and thanked God for bringing Amanda into his life.

Other survivors include his children, Jordin Brown, Aiden Brown and Felicity Brown, all of Seymour; sister, Crystal (Alan Jones) Brown of Crothersville; brother, John (Jennifer) Brown of Gas City; brother and sister-in-law, Melissa and Ian Waller; grandmothers, Edna Akers of Seymour and Brenda Brown of Medora; aunt, LeeAnn (Don) Vondielingen of Seymour; uncle, Robert Seelmaer of Tennessee; nephews, Logan Collins, Corey Reynolds, Joshua Reynolds, Collin Bowman, Junior Brown, Christopher Wiscaver and Ithan Waller; niece, Lilly Waller; great-nephew, Anakin; and several cousins who survive. He will be missed by his pit bull Paws, who he loved dearly.

Shawn was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Ed and Ethel Cox and his grandfather, Tom Brown.

A celebration of Shawn’s life will be held at 11 a.m Wednesday at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre.

Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. until service time.

Memorials may be made to Shawn Brown Memorial Fund to help family with expenses. Friends may sign the guestbook and share a favorite memory at www.WoodlawnFamilyFuneral.com. Some of these memories will be shared at his celebration Wednesday.
