Tours of downtown Seymour planned

The Jackson County Public Library, in conjunction with the Seymour Museum, is sponsoring two free walking tours of historic downtown Seymour this summer.

Registration for the tours is required by going to or calling 812-523-4636.

The tours will begin at 6:30 p.m. Monday and 6:30 p.m. Sept. 19.

The Founding of Seymour tour and the Prominent Businesses tour begin and end at the Seymour Museum at 202 N. Chestnut St.

Seymour historian and businessman Kevin Greene will lead the tours. Research will be presented about the early downtown entrepreneurs who once resided there.

There is a limit of 25 attendees for these two tours.
