A fish fry to benefit the Joe Jackson Hotel restoration project will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Whistle Stop, 2379 S. Main St., Vallonia.

Meals, including two sides, will be available for $7. Fish sandwiches will be sold for $4.50. Desserts, including homemade pies, will be sold separately. Proceeds benefit the Joe Jackson Hotel restoration project.

Joe Jackson was a local businessman with ties to Jackson and Washington counties. He financed construction of the hotel, which dates to 1914. The hotel is across from the replica of Fort Vallonia.
