MANDAN, N.D. — Authorities say a man who escaped from a Washburn jail has been captured.

The Bismarck Tribune (http://bit.ly/2cKEM7t ) reports law enforcement officers detonated flash bombs Monday to force 35-year-old William Lyn Rawson out of a trailer home. Authorities say he fled the residence and climbed a nearby tree where a fire truck was deployed to retrieve him.

Rawson was discovered to be missing Sunday morning from the Washburn jail. The McLean County Sheriff’s Department has said Rawson was in custody on suspicion of a number of offenses, including eluding law enforcement, possessing a stolen vehicle and reckless endangerment.

Officials in McLean County arrested Rawson last month after he led police on a chase through the county in a stolen vehicle, then fled and hid for several hours in a corn field.
