NEW YORK — Police say a shooting in New York City has left a 20-year-old man dead.

It happened around 10:30 p.m. Monday in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Bedford-Stuyvesant.

Police say officers responding to a 911 call found the victim with a gunshot wound to the chest. New York Police Department officials say first responders took the man to a hospital where he was declared dead.

The man’s name isn’t being released until his family can be notified.

No arrests have been made. Police didn’t immediately have information on motive or a description of any suspects.

An investigation is underway.
