HOOKSETT, N.H. — Police have arrested a 23-year-old Manchester man following an hours-long armed standoff near an undeveloped cul-de-sac in Hooksett.
Christopher Garon is facing charges of reckless conduct and disorderly conduct stemming from the incident, which began on Monday night and concluded with his arrest Tuesday morning.
Police say Garon’s parents called 911 to report that their son was despondent and armed with a semi-automatic rifle.
Sgt. James Bradley says officers dispatched to the Campus Drive area immediately heard four to five rounds being discharged in close proximity.
Police set up a perimeter around the cul-de-sac and a SWAT team was called in to assist in Garon’s apprehension. He ultimately surrendered without incident.
Garon said he “just had a very bad moment” in court on Tuesday. He’s currently being held on bail.
