CLEVELAND — Two Cleveland men are suspected of killing a 17-year-old girl they had recruited to help them rob a bank.

Prosecutors say one of the men wanted the girl dead because he was afraid that she would name him as a suspect in the robbery.

A grand jury on Tuesday indicted 19-year-old Kiechaun Newell and 22-year-old Jeffrey Doss on charges that include aggravated murder and kidnapping.

Court records don’t list attorneys for them. They’re being held on $1 million bond.

Prosecutors say the girl was with the men when they robbed a bank in August. Surveillance cameras captured images of the girl and one of the suspects during the robbery.

The girl was found shot dead in a vacant lot four days later.
