Police looking for man accused of rape

Police continue to look for a man accused of entering an apartment early Monday morning and raping a woman.

“She screamed for help, and a roommate walked into the living room and saw the man, who fled,” Detective Greg O’Brien with the Seymour Police Department said of the incident reported at 2:52 a.m. Monday in the 600 block of East Oak Street.

O’Brien said the 23-year-old, who was treated at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour and released, knew the man by name.

He said police believe it’s likely the man is no longer in the area.
