Brownstown United Methodist Church plans to conduct a celebration of art and music and of the church’s history and design from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday.
The event is a part of the bicentennial celebration of the town and Jackson County.
The celebration will feature a walkthrough of all areas of the church, with members of the church’s 190th anniversary committee members serving as guides. Points of interest include the stained glass windows and woodwork, a 200-year-old pump organ, the memorial gardens, the church steeple and new landscaping.
The hospitality committee will serve cookies and drinks in the basement of the church at 110 N. Poplar St.
This event is open to the public and sponsored through the Bicentennial Planning Committee of Jackson County.
