The Jackson County Public Library board of trustees conducted a public hearing on the 2017 budget at its regular meeting Monday at the Seymour Library.
The proposed 2017 operating fund budget is $2,282,007.
Lola Snyder, head of youth services, gave a report on the summer reading program and other programs and changes in the Seymour Library Kidz Korner.
The board approved a resolution to remain in the Indiana State Library Consortium for Public Internet Access for 2017-18.
The board also heard of progress on the 2017-2019 strategic plan led by board committee members Sally Crouch (chair), Connie Adams and Josh Bartley.
The board’s next meeting, the adoption of the 2017 budget, is set for 5 p.m. Oct. 17 at the Seymour Library, 303 W. Second St., Seymour.
