Myron E. “Turtle” Owens, 62, of Seymour passed away Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016, at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born Jan. 31, 1954, in Seymour, he was the son of William H. “Stiffy” Owens Sr., who preceded him in death, and Juanita Johnson Owens Korte, who survives. On May 14, 2011, in Seymour, he married Jane Mousa, who survives.

Turtle graduated from Seymour High School and served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a driver for PNP Trucking and worked for many years as manager of Riverview Cemetery. He enjoyed dirt track racing, the Indianapolis Colts and riding his Harley. He loved his faithful companion, Molly.

Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by his children, Nathan (Latasha) Owens and Jason Owens; six grandchildren, Caroline, Christian, Dominic, Haley, Kearra and Hannah; sisters, Cynthia Darlage, Lisa (Jeff) Atha and Lori (Ivan) Schultz; brothers, William H. “Stiffy” (Jeannine) Owens Jr. and Tom “Pidge” Owens; stepsons, Jacob Henley and Brandon Henley; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Nicholas Owens; a brother, Joe “Ears” Owens; and stepfather, Arthur “Art” Korte.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Voss Chapel in Seymour with the Rev. Gary Dyer officiating.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Monday.
