Owls to host soccer sectional

The IHSAA released the 2016 boys and girls soccer sectional draws Friday morning.

Due to poor field conditions at the Richard Wigh Soccer Complex, the Columbus East boys sectional has been moved to Seymour High School.

Columbus North’s girls sectional, which is also played at the complex, has been moved to the practice football field at the high school.

Seymour’s boys will open play against North on Oct. 3, starting at 6 p.m.

On Oct. 5, Scottsburg will face East at 6 p.m. before the winner of Monday’s match plays Madison at 8 p.m.

The final will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 8.

Cost is $6 per session or $10 for all session.

Seymour’s girls team will face North in the semifinals at 6 p.m. Oct. 6.

The winner of that game will face the victor of Columbus East and the winner of Scottsburg versus Madison (played Oct. 4) in the finals 8 p.m. Oct. 8

Cougars’ fields set

In the four-team boys Jac-Cen-Del sectional, the host school will play Trinity Lutheran on 7 p.m. Oct. 5.

Hauser and Oldenburg Academy will face-off at 5 p.m. that night.

The final will be conducted at 7 pm. Oct. 8.

Trinity’s girls will play Rising Sun, the host of this year’s sectional, at 6 p.m. Oct. 3 in the first round.

The winner will face Milan at 5 p.m. Oct. 6.

Lawerenceburg will play Southwestern and South Ripley has Switzerland County on Oct. 4.

The finals will take place at 2 p.m. Oct. 8.
