An Edinburgh man was treated for a possible broken ankle on Saturday afternoon after his motorcycle crashed in the Reddington area, police report.

Victor Young was found lying beside his 2008 Honda Goldwing at county roads 900N and 1000E, according to a report from Jackson County Officer Rick Meyer.

Young told police he was driving east on County Road 900N when he failed to make a 90 degree turn, Meyer said. The incident was reported at 3:50 p.m. Saturday.

Young’s motorcycle left the road and went into the Reddington Cemetery. It then hit a large rock, and Young was thrown from the motorcycle, Meyer said.

Young was conscious and alert when rescue workers arrived, but complained of ankle pain, Meyer said. Young also was wearing a helmet that likely helped him avoid further injuries, Meyer said.

He was treated at the scene by Jackson County Emergency Medical Services personnel and taken to Schneck Medical in Seymour. He was later released, Meyer said.
