STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — Police are continuing to investigate after an elementary student was hit by a car while crossing the street to board a school bus in central Pennsylvania.
Patton Township police have yet to cite or charge the driver in the incident involving a State College Area School District bus about 8 a.m. Monday.
Authorities haven’t released the name of the student.
Police say the bus was stopped with its red lights flashing when the car turned left onto the street and hit the child. The child was treated and released at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
The school district reminds drivers they must stop at least 10 feet from a bus once its red lights are activated.
