Southern Indiana Center for the Arts will feature an exhibit by Art Alliance Brown County from Friday through Oct. 31.

An opening reception, sponsored by BloomBank, will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the center at 2001 N. Ewing St. in Seymour. The reception is free and open to the public, and snacks will be served. Nancy Brock with Northside Liquors will be on hand for a fall wine tasting.

Art Alliance members, who live in Brown County, are working to maintain the tradition of the early artists who came to capture the beauty of the surrounding hills, according to a news release from the center.

The exhibit features work in a variety of media, inspired by the rustic atmosphere and the innovative spirit of the original artists. Come see their latest creations, inspired by the unique environment and heritage of Nashville and Brown County.

Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m Tuesday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
