Trinity runner finishes 3rd

Trinity Lutheran’s lone runner competed in Thursday’s Greensburg Invitational.

Sophomore A.J. Goecker placed third in 17:22.

Seymour duo win races at Batesville

BATESVILLE

A pair of runners won their respective races as the Seymour cross-country teams placed second out of five teams Tuesday at the Batesville Invitational.

Freshman Makenna Sunbury (19:41) and junior Jacob Voss (17:03) each took individual titles for the Owls.

On the girls side, the host school won the meet with 37 points, while the Owls scored 48, and Rushville rounded out the top three with 54.

Claire Loebker was next for the Owls with a sixth-place finish in 20:36, Abby Voss claimed 10th in 20:57, Oriana Morales’ time of 21:56 was 14th and Sarah Benefiel clocked 22:28 for 17th.

Seymour’s Haley Westfall won the junior varsity race in 22:44.

East Central won the boys team scoring with 30, Seymour totaled 51 and Batesville amassed 61 points.

The Owls’ Hunter Bauserman ran 17:30 for fourth, and teammate Cooper Morrow was right behind at 17:36 for fifth.

Barry Huff timed 17:56 for 16th, and Luke Hauersperger rounded out the scoring five in 25th at 18:37.
