Cecil Leroy Kiste, 69, of North Vernon passed away Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, at his residence.

Born Dec. 18, 1946, in Seymour, he was the son of Arthur L. and Bessie Ross Kiste, both of whom preceded him in death.

Cecil was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in North Vernon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. After many years, he retired from being an owner/operator truck driver.

Survivors include his children, Jaime (Shelly B.) Kiste, John (Shelly A.) Kiste and Elizabeth Kiste; six grandchildren, Ashley, Jacob, Angelita, Solomon, Christopher and Lillian; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter (Betty) Kiste; four nephews; and a niece.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Donnells; four brothers, Carl Kiste, George Donnells, Clarence Kiste and Hubert Kiste; and a nephew, David E. Kiste.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Voss Chapel in Seymour with Bishop Doyle Myers officiating. Burial will be at Reddington Cemetery with full military graveside service conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled American Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Monday.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Veterans Administration.
