TRENTON, N.J. — Motorists are seeing slightly lower prices at the pumps in New Jersey.
AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas in the state on Friday was $1.98, down 2 cents from last week. That’s nearly the same price from a year ago, when motorists were paying $1.97.
The price decrease comes after the Colonial pipeline went back online in late September. It had been closed on Sept. 9 due to a major leak which had caused supply disruptions in the mid-Atlantic region and other areas.
The national average price on Friday was $2.22, up a penny from last week. But that’s lower than the national average from a year ago, when motorists were paying $2.29.
