Franklin College production includes Vallonia resident

The Franklin College Theatre Department will perform Stephen Sondheim’s “Side By Side By Sondheim” at 8 p.m. beginning Wednesday through Saturday and at 2 p.m. Oct. 9.

The cast for the production includes Chase Loyd, son of Roy and Beverly Stein of Vallonia. He will perform songs from “Evening Primrose,” “Anyone Can Whistle” and “Pacific Overtures” along with other works by Sondheim.

All performances will be in Théâtre Margot in the Johnson Center for Fine Arts at Branigin Boulevard and Grizzly Drive.

Sondheim has been a composer of musical theater for the past 50 years. This award-winning revue of his earlier work, including “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,” “Gypsy,” “A Little Night Music Company” and “West Side Story,” consists of more than 20 unforgettable songs from the musical theater composer.
