The Friends of the Jackson County Public Library used book sale will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the meeting room at the Seymour Library, 303 W. Second St.

A special Friends-only preview of the sale will be from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday. During the final hour of the sale, the popular “everything-a-bag-can-hold-for-$3” is in effect. Bags are provided.

Regular prices are adult hardback and softbound books for $1, children, young adult books and pocket paperbacks for 50 cents and DVDs for $2.

This sale also includes surplus library furniture and equipment priced from $1 to $150. Photos of sale items will be on the Friends Facebook page before the sale.

Donations of gently used books, movies and music are welcome to help stock upcoming bi-monthly sales and the ongoing sales at Seymour, Crothersville and Medora. Donors should drop them off at any checkout desk during library hours and request a receipt if desired.

Anyone interested in becoming a Friend (or renewing membership) will find forms at the sale, at the checkout desk or online. Annual dues are $5 for individuals, $10 for family, $25 for donor and $50 for benefactor.

The Friends also has partnered with the Seymour Area Farmers Market with the Buck-a-Book wagon. A small selection of books is available during regular market hours through the end of October. Hours are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays and 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays in the city’s Walnut Street parking lot.

The next bi-monthly sale is Nov. 19.
