Ronald A. Harger, 75, of North Vernon passed away Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016, at his home.

Born Nov. 11, 1940, in Clearspring, he was the son of John Alfred and Laura Lurrie Harger. On Dec. 11, 1981, in Waukegan, Illinois, he married Judy D. Williams.

Ron was a retired truck driver, having driven for Jack Gray Transport and Teamsters 301 for 34 years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Waukegan, Illinois, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Seymour. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and playing golf. In retirement, he spent most mornings and afternoons having coffee with the guys.

Other survivors besides his wife of almost 35 years include daughters, Denise (Bruce) Bernand of Mobile, Alabama, Rhonda Bernatonis of Conventry, Rhode Island, and Linda R. Harger of Singleton, Texas; grandsons, Shawn Almeida, Justin Almeida, Randy Harger and James Bernand; brother, Terry (Gloria) Harger of Venice, Florida; nephews, Glen R. (Peggy) Henderson of Medora and Andy (Kathy) Braden of Phoenix, Arizona; and close friend, Richard (Karen) Isaacs of Norman.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Marian Henderson, Bernice Braden and Lorraine Combs; and a brother, Allen Harger.

A final coffee hour for Ron will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre in Seymour.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, where refreshments will be served.
