JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville’s Main Street Bridge is set to close temporarily.
The Florida Times-Union reports (http://bit.ly/2dqJbir) that according to the Florida Department of Transportation, the Main Street Bridge in Jacksonville will be closed beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday so crews can complete the removal of a temporary work platform on the downtown span. The platform has been used for ongoing renovation of the bridge.
Officials say the platform’s removal is part of the department’s preparation for Hurricane Matthew and is a precautionary move.
The bridge will be closed until the platform is gone.
