SAVANNAH, Ga. — Police in Savannah are investigating the death of a 6-year-old boy who was found shot to death.

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department spokeswoman Darnisha Green says officers responded around 3 p.m. Wednesday and found the boy suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to Memorial University Medical Center, where he died.

Investigators are following active leads, but they ask anyone with information about the boy’s shooting to come forward.
