The Rev. Timothy F. Shunney of Seymour recently earned his Master of Arts degree in biblical counseling.

He graduated magna cum laude with a 3.86 grade-point average from Trinity Theological Seminary in Newburgh.

Since moving to Seymour in 2007, he has been a volunteer hospice chaplain, ministers as one of the volunteer chaplains at Schneck Medical Center and serves as an ordained lay minister at Trinity Pentecostal Chapel.

He also works as a professional tax specialist for H&R Block, worked with special needs children at local schools for nine years and is an active referral Realtor for South Central Referral Network under the auspices of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices.

Prior to moving to Seymour, he and his wife, Melissa, a Seymour native, were the principals of the H.O.P.E. Academy Christian school (K-12) in Indianapolis at Shelby Street Pentecostal Lighthouse for many years. They are both graduates of Free Gospel Bible Institute in Export, Pennsylvania.

The Shunneys and their twin daughters, Julia and Jessica, enjoy singing and playing the piano, guitars and ukulele and ministering in music and the Word to local nursing homes.
