LINCOLN, Neb. — A Nebraska Republican Party official says the GOP is working to reschedule a campaign rally and political fundraiser with vice presidential candidate Mike Pence after both events were canceled.

Bud Synhorst, the state party’s executive director, says the events set for Tuesday were canceled because of logistical problems.

GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump drew widespread criticism from Nebraska party leaders last week when a recording surfaced of him making lewd comments about women.

Gov. Pete Ricketts, who plays a key role in raising money for the party, has said the comments were reprehensible, offensive and dangerous.

A Ricketts spokesman referred questions to the state party, saying officials there were the ones who planned the fundraiser.
