Ralph W. Walker, 82, of rural Seymour passed away at 10:25 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, at Schneck Medical Center.

Born Sept. 13, 1934, in Jennings County, he was the son of Leman James and Nellie Marie Buckles Walker, both of whom preceded him in death.

On Sept. 27, 1988, he married Brenda Deaton Walker, who survives in rural Seymour.

Ralph retired in 2000 from Ryder Trucking and worked previously at Seymour Manufacturing as a truck driver. He served in the United States Air Force enlisting on April 14, 1955, and was honorably discharged on Sept. 19, 1957. Ralph was a member of Cana United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925 and American Legion Post 89, both in Seymour. He enjoyed gardening, Texas Hold’em tournaments, attending Tampico Tractor Pulls, fishing, was an avid University of Kentucky fan, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren and his family.

Other survivors include a daughter, Tammy (Greg) Sutton of Scipio; a daughter-in-law, Tammy Killey of Scottsburg; three grandchildren, Niki Wilson, Corey Killey and Courtney Killey, all of Scottsburg; and one great-granddaughter, Brooklynn Wilson of Scottsburg.

He was preceded in death by a son, Todd Killey in 2011; brothers, Donald, James, Earl and Michael Walker; and one sister, Lois Dailey.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville with burial to follow at Cana Cemetery in Paris Crossing.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
