LORANGER, La. — An Albany man has been accused of killing a woman found shot on the side of road in Loranger.

Local news agencies report that that Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office says 30-year-old Brian Gregory Anthony II was arrested Wednesday on multiple charges including second-degree murder in 27-year-old Heather Cox’s death.

Cox’s body was discovered early Tuesday morning. Deputies responding to reports that a vehicle may have struck a pedestrian whose body was lying near the roadway discovered that the victim had been shot in the upper torso.

Anthony also faces attempted murder, aggravated kidnapping, burglary, theft, arson and other charges.

It was not immediately clear whether he has an attorney.
