The Indiana Department of Transportation recently issued a permit for intermittent closures of State Road 135 on Saturday between noon and 2 p.m. to facilitate Fort Vallonia Days festivities.
Officers with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department will control traffic during the community’s 48th annual parade, which is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
Fort Vallonia Days is a pioneer festival staged every year on the third weekend in October. It features a muzzleloading shoot, various demonstrations around the fort, trail rides, food vendors, musical entertainment and more.
Vallonia is located three miles south of Brownstown and U.S. 50 in Jackson County.
