SEYMOUR

Albert C. “Bert” Ahlbrand, 71, of Seymour passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, at Kendred Hospital-Indianapolis South.

Born March 5, 1945, in Seymour, he was the son of Albert and Alice Steinwedel Ahlbrand, both of whom preceded in death. He married Linda L. Russell on July 8, 1967, in Seymour. She preceded him in death on April 10, 2013.

Bert was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He worked for more than 40 years in the automotive repair industry. He loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his children, Bradley (Brenda) Ahlbrand, Kevin (Sonia) Ahlbrand and Angela Cognata; and grandchildren, Mackenzie (Peter) Ahlbrand, Jacob Ahlbrand, Hunter Ahlbrand, Alexander Cognata, Charles Dorsey and Stephanie Dorsey; a sister, Judy (Gerald “Jerry”) McGinley; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Ahlbrand.

Besides his parents, and wife, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Gabrielle Ahlbrand; and three brothers, Philip J. Ahlbrand, Richard P. Ahlbrand and A. James Ahlbrand.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Voss Chapel with the Rev. Ralph Blomenberg officiating. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.
