Hornets fall in five

MEDORA

Despite a strong start, the Medora couldn’t hold on to a 2-0 lead as they fell to Salem 22-25, 21-25, 25-5, 25-11, 15-1 on Thursday.

Kailen Flynn pounded an outlandish 52 hits with seven kills while Katie Stewart had 24 with two and Lillie Hatfiled had nine behind one.

As a team, the Hornets were 93-for-120 with 13 kills on attacks.

Flynn also led the serving unit, making 19 of 20 with three aces. Katie Beesey was 9-for-11 with two aces.

The Hornets dropped to 5-15 with the loss.
