SHERMAN, Maine — State police are investigating the death of a man in northern Maine as a homicide.

Police say the body of 31-year-old Douglas Morin of Oakfield was found in a vehicle around midmorning on Sunday near Macwahoc Lake in Sherman. The body was taken to Augusta, where an autopsy was performed on Monday at the State Medical Examiner’s Office.

Police say a team of detectives from the Maine State Police are investigating the death. Police described the death as “suspicious” earlier in the day. The exact cause of death has not yet been released.

Sherman is along Interstate 95 in northern Maine, midway between Medway and Houlton.
