MANCHESTER, Tenn. — One man has died in an ultralight airplane crash in central Tennessee.

Coffee County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Lucky Knott said in a statement that the plane crashed Sunday afternoon in the southern end of the county.

Arriving authorities found the man dead at the scene. It is unclear what caused the plane to crash.

The Federal Aviation Administration is joining the sheriff’s office in investigating the crash.
