FAIRFAX, Va. — Police say a Fairfax County man was struck and killed by a car while chasing his dog over the weekend.

Fairfax County police say 46-year-old James C. Kim was fatally injured Saturday night. Police say Kim was trying to catch his dog, which was running loose, when he walked into the roadway, in front of a car.

Authorities say the driver was unable to avoid hitting Kim, who was taken to a hospital, where he died. Police say the driver of the car stayed at the scene. They say neither speed nor alcohol appear to have been a factor in the incident.
