MINNEAPOLIS — The deaths of two children and a man in a south Minneapolis apartment last month has been classified as a murder-suicide.

Officers who responded to the scene Sept. 30 found two children and a man who had been shot to death and a woman who’d been injured.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office says 39-year-old Luis Eduardo Ronquillo Alvarado died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, and that 13-year-old Luis Ronquillo and 10-year-old Nahiliy (NYE’-lee) Ronquillo both died after being shot in the head.

School officials earlier identified the woman who was wounded as the children’s mother, Maria Romero. It’s not clear what the man’s relationship was to the children.

This story corrects name of 39-year-old man to Ronquillo Alvarado instead of Alvarado.
