Theta Omega chapter Phi Beta Psi sorority members came to the October social in costume to celebrate Halloween.

The party was at the fall-decorated home of Jan Robinson. Robinson, Natasha Miller, Jennifer Payton and Kathleen Johnson served chili, cheeseballs and a variety of desserts.

Dana Byrkett won the corn guessing game, and costume winners were Amanda Reichenbacker, scariest costume (cat lady); Karen Schepman, most original (Jackie O); and Angi Reynolds, best costume (partly cloudy, chance of rain).

Other prizes were won by Janet Cooper, Reynolds and Jami Mathis.

Delegates Joan Trimpe and Reynolds will attend the 92nd annual state convention, “Phi Beta Psi, We Can Do It,” at the Lexington Airport Hotel in Indianapolis on Oct. 22. Mascot for the convention is Rosie the Riveter.

Indiana has 33 chapters. Phi Beta Psi supports charitable, benevolent and civic projects, including a national project, which is a foundation that awards grants to six cancer research doctors.

Indiana also has a state project that provides scholarships to Indiana students pursuing careers in medical technology.
