CROTHERSVILLE

Betty Hargett, 79, of Crothersville passed away at 7 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016, at her home.

Born Aug. 26, 1937, in Berlin, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Jack and Hulda King Moneyhon. On Oct. 18, 1952, in Berlin, Kentucky, she married Don Hargett, who survives in Crothersville.

Betty retired from Crothersville Community Schools in 2015 after working for 33 years as a custodian. She was a member of World Outreach for Christ in Scottsburg, enjoyed yard sales and traveling with no set destination.

Other survivors include a daughter, Anita (Jeff) Lapp of Austin; a son, David (Kelly) Hargett of Scottsburg; and five grandchildren, Danielle Richardson of Nashville, Tennessee, Erin (Chad) Daniel of Tampa, Florida, Caitlin Hargett of Scottsburg, Paige (Joe) Oliver of Virginia and Mallory Hargett of Scottsburg.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Moneyhon.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Thursday at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville. Burial will be at Crothersville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from noon until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
