Eric Michael Rhodes, 23, of Seymour passed away suddenly Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, at home.

Born March 20, 1993, in Seymour, he was the son of Michael and Michelle Mitchell Rhodes, both of whom survive.

He was a 2011 graduate of Seymour High School and a graduate of Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus. He played football while attending Seymour High School. He also worked at Wal-Mart Distribution Center and was an avid fisherman, who loved spending time with his family.

Besides his parents, survivors include two brothers, Eian and Eli Rhodes; two sisters, Aspen and Willow Rhodes; maternal grandparents, Kevin (Johnnie) Shelton and Edward Mitchell Sr.; paternal grandparents, Tim (Cindy) Rhodes Sr. and Marjorie Campbell; great-grandmother, Elaine Shelton; aunts and uncles, Edward (Buffie) Mitchell III, Shavonne (Mike) Moyer, Brandon Robinson, Michael Robinson, Elaina (Deji) Adeniyi, Valerie Shelton and Tim (Rebekah) Rhodes Jr., Natalie Herron and Erin Mankiller.

He was preceded in death by great-grandfather, Dean Shelton; great-grandmother, Stella Mae Rhodes; grandparents, Arnold Campbell and Edward and Vera Mitchell; and an aunt, Marjorie Ann Rhodes.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Voss Chapel with the Rev. Tom Judd officiating. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Thursday.

Memorials may be given for funeral expenses.
