Two Hamilton County residents were injured Sunday afternoon in a wreck on Interstate 65 south of U.S. 50, police report.

Marianne Rogness, 78, and Larry Rogness, 77, both of Noblesville, were taken to Schneck Medical Center in Seymour where they were treated for their injuries and released, according to a report from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.

Police said the wreck, reported at 2:33 p.m., occurred as Marianne Rogness was driving a 2005 Chrysler van south on the interstate and fell asleep. The vehicle went into the median and through a cable barrier into the northbound side of the median.

Marianne allowed northbound traffic to clear before driving into the northbound lanes and parking in the emergency lane, police said.

Reserve officers Scott Davis and Charlie Murphy investigated.
