Adults interested in learning more about the 4-H robotics program are invited to participate in an upcoming training session.

The Robotics Encounter 4-H volunteer training event is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Purdue Technology Center, 3000 Technology Ave., New Albany. Registration will start at 9:30 a.m.

Participants will learn about Lego robotics and how to contribute to a Lego robotics program in their county. You do not need to be a current 4-H volunteer to attend.

Duke Energy provided funds for 4-H to purchase the Lego robot kits. There will be an introduction to 4-H science programs, ages and stages of youth development, building and programming and an introduction to robotics challenges. The event also will include a question-and-answer session with successful program leaders and 4-H youth.

The workshop fee is $10. Lunch will be on your own from noon to 1 p.m., either packing your own lunch or visiting a local restaurant.

The registration form and payment (cash or check only) are due Nov. 16 to Purdue Extension Harrison County, 247 Atwood St., Corydon, IN 47112.
