Two Seymour residents were among the 26 students at Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus recognized during the annual Scholarship Luncheon on Oct. 25 at the Columbus Learning Center.
The two, the names and amounts of their scholarships and their majors are:
Michael Foist, the Charles Bantz Scholarship for Communication Studies, $1,000, communications.
Fredi Morales, IUPUI Alumni Association Scholarship, $1,000; Gerald and Sarah Armstrong Scholarship, $600; Wafa Family Scholarship, $1,000; pre-elementary education.
The luncheon gives scholarship recipients the chance to meet donors and thank them while also allowing donors the chance to hear firsthand how their contributions have helped change lives, according to a news release from Brenda Vogel, director of the university’s Office of Development and External Affairs. The scholarships totaled more than $25,000 for the 2016-17 academic year.
