Inez Avanell Morrison, 93, of Brownstown passed away Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, in Brownstown.

Born Feb. 21, 1923, in the rural route area of Sparksville, she was a daughter of Ezra and Mabel Flinn Henderson, both of whom preceded her in death. On Sept. 28, 1940, she married Harrell Morrison, who survives.

She was a member of Brownstown Church of the Nazarene and had been a homemaker most of her life. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, fun, jokes, pranks and laughter. She loved attending church and was active over the years at the church where she held many offices. She devoted 58 years of her life caring for her invalid son.

Other survivors include her children, Jerry Morrison, Brenda Joan (Ken) Landon, Larry (Bev) Morrison and Gary (Shirley) Morrison; a sister, Faye Verble; a sister-in-law, Minnie Duncan; nine grandchildren, Michelle (Dewayne) Silvers, Melissa (Joe) Gibbs, Mirenda (Ron) Scott, Todd (Lynn) Farnsley, Tracy Cox, Doralee (Steve) Manning, Gary Wayne (Cathy) Morrison, Yvonne (David) Cummings and Justin (Jennifer) Morrison; 21 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Jeanette Morrison; two sisters, Gladys Henderson and Anna Mary Baker; and two brothers, Doyle Henderson and Stanley “Peanut” Henderson.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brownstown Nazarene Church with Pastor Tom Lichtley officiating. Burial will be at Guthrie Creek Cemetery, west of Brownstown.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home in Brownstown and from 1 p.m. until time of service on Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be made to Brownstown Church of the Nazarene.
