Thirty-seven members of the Gamma Tau chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma met Oct. 18 at Central Christian Church in Seymour.

A meal of ham loaf, potatoes, beans and rolls was served by the church’s youth group.

Guest speaker for the evening was Dr. Jill Christopher of Christopher and Associates. She spoke about dyslexia, how to spot it and interventions that help. Members brought donations for Mental Health America of Jackson County to provide Christmas gifts.

Barb Schuley read the minutes of the September meeting, and Lois Geuder gave the treasurer’s report.

The next meeting is Feb. 21 and will be a pitch-in at First Presbyterian Church in Seymour. Retired teachers will be providing the food. Donations on that night will be for Anchor House.

The “Glad You Came” awards were won by Kathy Haper, Luella Mackey and Cheryl Hodapp.

The meeting ended with a song lead by Olga Otte entitled “There are Strong, Empowered Women Here Today.”
