Braves outlast Rams

Brownstown Central edged Paoli 46-40 on Saturday.

The Braves held an 11-4 advantage after eight minutes and boasted a 28-17 lead at intermission.

Brownstown Central’s offense went stagnant in the third, just scoring seven points while allowing 13.

Up 39-33 after three quarters, the Braves amassed 14 points in the fourth while holding the Rams to 10.

Madison Klinge led the Braves with 14 points and fellow junior Shelby Stuckwisch chipped-in nine points off the bench.

Paoli out-rebounded the Braves 32-23. Klinge and freshman Ashley Schroer each collected six rebounds for the Braves.

The Braves won the turnover battle with 14 to the Rams’ 18 giveaways.

The sophomore trio of Jacqlyn Rice, Keaton Chastain and Bela Brewster scored all of the points for the Rams, with Rice leading the way with 16 and Chastain adding 14.

Tomorrow, Brownstown Central (2-1) will host Jackson County foe Trinity Lutheran (0-2).
