The Edward Jones/Seymour Offices judged art show, hosted by Southern Indiana Center for the Arts, is available for public viewing through Dec. 22.

This popular gallery exhibit features acrylic, oil and water color paintings along with pastels and pencil works of art. Photography has picked up as one of the most popular categories in recent years.

Adult and youth winners will receive their awards at a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the arts center at 2001 N. Ewing St., Seymour. The arts center’s annual meeting will be at 3:45 p.m. Anyone interested in learning more about SICA or wanting to get involved with the organization is encouraged to come talk with board members.

SICA’s annual holiday art bazaar also is available for public browsing through Dec. 22. Art pieces from the judged show and bazaar are available for purchase. This is an opportunity to purchase a unique piece of art and support an area artist. SICA also receives a portion of art sales.

There is no cost to view gallery exhibits or for building tours. SICA’s hours are from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.

Edward Jones/Seymour Offices has sponsored the judged art show for more than eight years. After the exhibits come down, entries are made available to SICA public spaces art exhibits at Schneck Medical Center, Greater Seymour Chamber of Commerce, Tiemeier’s Jewelry Store and Brownstown Town Hall.
