Purdue Extension Jackson County is looking to recruit volunteers for a 4-H shooting sports program.
The 4-H shooting sports project teaches safe operation of firearms and archery equipment.
Volunteer instructors must be certified at a workshop. One is set for March 31 and April 1 at Ross Camp in West Lafayette.
Six disciplines are offered at the state level — archery, outdoor skills, muzzleloading, pistol, rifle and shotgun. The disciplines offered in a county will depend on the availability of certified 4-H shooting sports instructors to teach the classes, ranges and equipment.
