Police asking for help in recovering items stolen from construction site

Police are asking the public for help in recovering a heat pump and air conditioner unit reported missing from a construction site east of Seymour.

RE/MAX Professionals, a real estate agency in Seymour, reported the theft of a Tempstar heating and cooling unit valued at more than $5,000 at 5:06 p.m. Wednesday in the 3500 block of Regents Drive.

Police suspect the unit was taken within the last two weeks.

The unit had been installed at a new home nearing completion, according to a news release from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.

Reserve officer Brad Barker was the responding officer, and Detective Bob Lucas, a crime scene investigator, assisted.
